Phase 2: Background Research

Thinking of a topic for my game took me some time. I have never really thought of it before as I never imagined myself creating a game, which I am definitely enjoying the experience. I wanted to choose something many people will relate to and will give them the feeling that the game is relatable as this is something I enjoy. Moreover, I am the type of person who likes to play games that make me learn more about myself and walk away have learnt something new. That is why I ended up choosing anger. I felt that it is going to be a topic many people will relate to while playing the game as many around us suffer from anger issues.

What is Anger?

Anger is a natural response to perceived threats. It causes your body to release adrenaline, your muscles to tighten, and your heart rate and blood pressure to increase. Your senses might feel more acute and your face and hands flushed.

Is anger unhealthy?

Anger becomes a problem only when you don’t manage it in a healthy way. Many people are easily triggered. However, the difference is when a person knows how to control it and another does not.

What may cause anger issues?

Many things can trigger anger, including stress, family problems, and financial issues. For some people, anger is caused by an underlying disorder, such as alcoholism or depression. Anger itself isn’t considered a disorder, but anger is a known symptom of several mental health conditions.

Physical signs of anger:

-shaking/ trembling

-headache

-clenching jaws/fists

-feeling hot

Emotional signs of anger:

-Guilt

-depressed

-irritated

-Anxious
